CHAMPION
Provide one on one assistance and mentoring to a Jobs for Life participant as he/she pursues employment. The goal is to build a relationship with a Jobs for Life participant while encouraging them to apply the principles of God’s Word to all areas of life: career, finances, and family. This is an opportunity for real impact.
COUNSELORS
Work with students who have requested help dealing with emotional roadblocks in their lives. While staff work hard to listen, advise and support, a professional counselor is sometimes the best help for our students.
LUNCH PROVIDERS
When the Jobs for Life class is in session, volunteers provide lunch for the students. These volunteers are providing more than just a meal–they are providing a time for fellowship and relationship building that is vital to our program. The number of students to be determine.
PRAYER PARTNERS
BUDGET COUNSELORS
These volunteers are paired with IDA (individual development account) program participants to help them develop a budget, and then they meet once a month to offer basic financial advice and to encourage participants to continue working toward their financial goals. Volunteers also maintain phone contact a few times a month.
CLASS SPEAKERS
Share their knowledge related to finances, employment, workplace ethics, and more. Students often cite speakers as the most inspiring part of the Jobs for Life class. If you’re looking for an opportunity to share “real world” experience with students who are setting goals and changing their lives, this is it.
