The Best Gift!

Thank you for the many gifts and blessings you have shared with the families in North Richmond and the surrounding Fort Bend community throughout the year!

Our Adopt a Family outreach blessed over 36 North Richmond families experiencing hardship this past year.  The Children’s ministry, several home teams and several individual families chose to adopt a family this year and bless them with gifts for Christmas.  Over hundreds of toys were also donated to the Helping Hands Toy Drive by individuals.  But the number of families adopted, the number of  toys collected and people participating is not the best part of the story.

The best part of this story is that many families heard the Christmas story this year through you and through the love you shared by your gifts.   You walked into living rooms and kitchens of people you had never met to share a cup of coffee, hear their story and learn how you can pray for them.     A home team of mostly single moms were connected with a single mom in North Richmond and instantly had things in common that sparked a new relationship.  Many of you invited your families to hear the Christmas story and enjoyed worship together.  You taught your children how to give and many started new traditions that will last throughout the year.

It’s overwhelming the joy you have when you desire nothing more than to please God and pour yourself out for the benefit of others!   Here is a voice mail received from a family, “Please tell Chris, the guy in the blue truck and everyone else that helped me this year, thank you and to have a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas”.  “I am very blessed”.   A text message from another family, …want to thank you for keeping us warm in the cold weather, and we appreciate the home team for helping our family, we are blessed”.

Thanks be to God for being the author of our story and for giving us Jesus, the best gift of all!
