A gift that keeps on giving

One of the many issues facing many residents of North Richmond and Fort Bend is that of literacy, being able to read and write; and the ability to speak English.  Seventy-five percent of unemployed adults have reading and/or writing difficulties (National Institute for Literacy). One of the ways we are addressing these issues is through a partnership with the Literacy Council of Fort Bend.

All prospective volunteers must train with the Literacy Council of Fort Bend. The next training is scheduled for November 8, 10 & 13. For more information Literacy Council of Fort Bend.

If you are unable to train in November, you can still assist in the classrooms.   Currently we have volunteers leading ESL and GED classes at Calvary Church on FM 762 and helping with LCISD Project Learn. To find out more or to volunteer in this area please contact Becky Watts
