Supporting Friends of NR

We have received a lot of questions this past month about how to give a financially to the Friends of North Richmond Initiative.  It’s now never been easier.  All you have to do is click on the Donate button located to the right, or on the GIVE tab at the top of this page.

Clicking on the Donate button will take you to a safe and secure Paypal account.  It simple, safe and easy.  You can be certain that your gift goes directly toward helping those who live in North Richmond and nothing else.  We have little to no overhead and only one paid staff member, so this allows us to make the very most of your gift and make a difference in someone else’s life very quickly!

FNR Fall Opportunities

Friends of North Richmond Outreach ministries are revving up to send volunteers into the classrooms, homes and other churches to “help others” in several ways.  Orientation and/or Training is required for several of these areas. Email your contact person for more information  

Prayer Team – Join the team that prays for FNR families. Contact Ann Gardner welshgardner@windstream.net

Education Area – Contact Jay Kay Cunningham – Jaykaycunninghamc3@gmail.com

• Mentor Program—Help students with academics in the classroom for approximatley 1 hour per week.  Training provided & required
• Afterschool Tutors – Tutors needed for afterschool program at the Special Needs Center to help students with homework.

Fort Bend Seniors Orientation September 1 | 10:00 AM  | Hut II | Beckyw@riverpointe.org

• Meals on Wheels – Volunteers with reliable transportation and 1 hour to spare each week can help by delivering meals to seniors in North Richmond.
  

Literacy Training | September 11 & 18 | Register by calling (281)240-8181

• Teach ESL – Help adults learn English.  AM & PM classes available | Immediate need, register ASAP
• Teach for GED – Help prepare adults for their GED
• Citizenship – Help prepare for written/verbal interview for Citizenship test.

School Supplies Drive

The Back to School Donation drive was a huge success.  Youth delivered, sorted and made up school supply packets for over 250 students!      Thanks for your generous donations!  Thanks to all the volunteers who helped today!  What a huge difference this will make to the families in need.
